Hi folks, it's been a while since I posted last. In truth I had thought about "going stock" selling my integra and getting a BMW or something but I can't get enough speed. I think that I would miss my car too much though and no matter what I bought would end up lowered with a blower or turbo. Even though I haven't been posting much I've been reading this board often. Many of the problems and solutions that are posted directly impact what has been happening with me and my car. Thank you all for all your insight to help this amateur monkey wrench. A little background... I've had my 6 psi blower on for about 1 1/2 years now. I love the sound, the speed, and the torque. As I'm sure that all of you are quite familiar with my car is beginning to feel slow. I love the blower and the extra power that you can feel throughout the powerband but I've decided to dump the blower and go the turbo route. In fact I'm going to purchase a custom turbo kit today. My goal is to hit very low 12's high 11's on race gas in my integra this season. (I would like to be faster then my friends corvette) :-)
Here is my setup that I'm purchasing turbo guys please let me know what you think...
    Custom T3/T04E turbo
    HKS wastegate
    Greddy Large FMIC
    Greddy Type S BOV
    RE Eng Injectors 550's
    BBK Fuel Pump 255
    8.5:1 headgasket
    Blockguard
    Skunk 2 intake manifold
    Super AFC
and a boost controller of some sort (any ideas???)

Do you think that's a good combination? What else would you recommend while I'm on my buying spree?

    Thanks once again guys.

    Chris

Good setup. Although I must point out, the amount of power you will be making to even get a stripped Integra into the high 11's, low 12's will be a bit too much for the stock bottom end.

You might want to scratch off the headgasket and blockguard(kinda useless IMO) and go with at least new pistons. I'd probably get new rods if you're talking about that much power. I'd check out www.theoldone.com for the internals, they have really nice stuff for a good price.

As for fuel, might want to start dealing with a more "programmable" system like a piggyback ECU at the power levels you're dealing with. I don't even know if you can get your car to idle with 550CC injectors and a V-AFC. Might want to look at 440CC's, but even then those are probably way too big for the V-AFC.

I'd also get one of those billet check valves, can't remember where to get them, maybe somebody else can chime in on that.

All in all, looks like a good setup, although you may want to kinda rethink your goals with the components you're running now. Shooting for an occasional high to maybe mid 12's on a bottom end with some rollerwave pistons and 10-12psi of boost on ~400cc injectors should be doable with some tuning.

    Good Luck!

Sounds like a decent setup.. What kind of exhaust manifold are you using? Do you know any of the turbocharger specs (like compressor wheel size, turbine wheel 'stage', housing A/R's, ETC...)?

I have to agree with Def, the blockguard isn't necessary and the headgasket is inferior for this kind of project. Check out the internals he mentioned. They will save you a lot of grief in the long run.

Fuel and ignition managment will be the key to your success (measured in Hp) and can be temperamental when using multiple piggybacks together. I have been using Haltech ECU's in the past, but will definately look at a ZDyne or Hondata ECU for the next big project.
